Kenn Griffiths

Kenn Griffiths is a child contact expert Kenn Griffiths has 28 years experience as a Children and Families Social Worker. Qualified in Dispute Resolution, he has investigated and been involved in many child abduction cases. He has acted as expert witness on numerous occasions and has been used by the Children and Family Court Advisory And Support Service (CAFCASS) in Staffordshire and by their Difficult Contact Section in London.

As a Solution Focused Therapist Kenn’s vision permeates the whole of mychildcontact.com and Spring Garden Consultancy’s practice and policies. Trained by Europe’s leading therapy training organisation ‘BRIEF Therapy Practice’, he uses his unique skills to bring about positive change in a wide variety of situations with individuals, families, businesses and private and public organisations.

He is regularly called upon to work with families who are experiencing difficult and delicate contact problems both as a contact supervisor and independent social worker.

In 2001 Ken worked closely with Carmarthenshire County Council and other agencies to form and write their Policy and Procedures for Anti-Social Behaviour Problem Solving Groups. He has trained and helped to set up a Mediation Service in the Merthyr Tydfil area.

Kenn Griffiths (born 5th May 1953) the son of a Glazier from Stoke on Trent lived on a trouble torn council estate. 

Kenn Griffiths went to Berryhill Junior High School but left at 15 barely able to read and write and was briefly a butcher having worked in a local farm slaughterhouse from age 12 years. 

At 16 Kenn left home and worked in Weston Super Mare where he joined the Army serving in several conflicts including Northern Ireland where he was awarded a Unit Commendation. 

An injury put Kenn Griffiths back into civilian life where he became a social worker working initially in residential care and later specialising in working with delinquent and disturbed adolescents before joining a children and family field social work team working closely with family courts and police in child protection investigations and adoption enquiries. 

Kenn met and married his first wife when he was 19. Married three times Kenn has 2 step-daughters and an adopted daughter. 

Coming from humble beginnings Kenn Griffiths’ entrepreneurial nous made extra money with a number of business ventures, including selling pens at school with billionaire John Cauldwell, before selling clothes and records from local market stalls, tuck boxes to offices, designing and selling outdoor pursuits equipment and on to a family transport business before notable success in outdoor education and pursuits with Selective Activities a company offering Promotional Adventure Activities and Expedition Organisers and Survival and Security expertise with his friend and mentor former sergeant major Eddie McGee. 

Kenn is best known for his close protection and undercover expertise as Chairman and Managing Director with the Select Group of Companies, Select Associates Investigators Ltd, Select Debt Recovery and Select Security. Where he has worked as security advisor to The Gold Group, having the personal safety responsibility of Jacqueline Gold and investigations for many celebrities including Robbie Williams and Lewis Collins. 

An interesting episode in Kenn Griffiths’ life was when he founded mychildcontact.com a website initiative to improve children’s contact and access to their absent parents. 

Kenn has commendations from H.M. Forces Army, the High Court and letters of commendation and bravery from the Police and Prison Service.

Kenn is also a tireless fundraiser and has given his time to help many deserving charities including:
